Mark Hand has more than 19 years of public accounting experience with “Big 5” accounting firms, including seven years as a tax partner of KPMG Peat Marwick and more than 10 years as a Principal of Business Valuation, Inc. As a CPA, Mark has represented numerous clients before the Internal Revenue Service. He has substantial experience with valuation and tax issues affecting "S" corporations and partnerships. He is also experienced with valuation issues for estate and gift tax purposes. He has co-authored articles and led professional training seminars on tax and valuation issues affecting S Corporations and Family Limited Partnerships.
Mr. Hand is active in many businesses, professional and civic organizations. He is Past President of the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida; Past President of the Planned Giving Council of Northeast Florida; a member of the Association for Corporate Growth; Past Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board; Past Chairman of the Arlington Family YMCA Advisory Board; Director of the Brooks Health Foundation; and a member of the Professional Advisors Counsel of The Community Foundation of Jacksonville.
Mark received a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Taxation from Georgia State University.
He is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and Georgia; a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mark is also a Certified Valuation Analyst and is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. In addition, Mark holds a Florida Real Estate license.
